The Milwaukee Brewers polished off the World Series on Wednesday, which means the MLB offseason officially began on Thursday.
While several big names have already elected free agency, including Michael King, one player who's sticking around is Baltimore Orioles reliever Ryan Helsley.
Helsley, 32, opted into his $14 million player option for 2027. That isn't so surprising given that his 2026 campaign was marred by injuries, limiting him to an 0-4 record and a 4.11 ERA over 17 appearances.
Coming off two straight disappointing seasons, the two-time All-Star will try to stay healthy and bounce back next year. Meanwhile, the Orioles will need him to be a force in the bullpen if they want to make the playoffs in a crowded AL East.
