For the first time in their 58-year history, the Milwaukee Brewers are finally World Series champions.
The Brewers were the best team in baseball wire-to-wire this year, leading MLB and setting a franchise record with a 103-59 record during the regular season. That success carried over into October, where Milwaukee went 11-2 against the San Diego Padres, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Tampa Bay Rays.
The Brewers' title run included a sweep of the defending champs in the NLCS and a five-game victory over the team with the best record in the American League this year. In other words, Milwaukee was the best of the best.
The Brewers' dominant campaign brought the city its first World Series title since 1957, when the Braves played there before moving to Atlanta in 1966.
The Brewers were born in 1969 as an expansion team, playing one year as the Seattle Pilots before relocating to Milwaukee. Prior to 2026, their lone previous World Series appearance in 1982 resulted in a loss to the St. Louis Cardinals.
Brewers fans waited more than half a century to taste a championship, so hopefully their next title doesn't take as long.
