The Milwaukee Brewers and their manager, Pat Murphy, faced considerable criticism in the aftermath of their 4-3 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 4 of the World Series on Tuesday night.

With the Brewers up 3-2 in the bottom of the 12th and just three outs away from a World Series title, Murphy opted not to bring in his ace, Jacob Misiorowski, from the bullpen.

Instead, he summoned Shane Drohan, who surrendered four straight hits and lost the game without recording an out.

With Misiorowski slated to start Game 5, Murphy wanted him to be fully rested and not mess with his routine the night before his start.

The decision paid off, as Misiorowski was excellent in Game 5 on Wednesday. He fired 5 2/3 shutout innings before exiting with a calf cramp, helping Milwaukee win 4-1 and clinch its first championship in franchise history.

Sometimes, the best moves are the ones you don't make.
