New York Yankees ace Cam Schlittler has made only three career playoff starts, but he's already among the best postseason pitchers in MLB history.
Schlittler dominated the Boston Red Sox again in Game 1 of the AL Wild Card Series, shutting them out over 6 2/3 innings in the Yankees' 9-0 victory. He allowed just two hits and one walk while racking up 10 strikeouts.
It was reminiscent of Schittler's gem against the Red Sox in Game 3 of last year's wild card round, where he amassed 12 strikeouts over eight scoreless frames.
Schittler became just the sixth pitcher in MLB history with double-digit strikeouts and no runs allowed in multiple playoff starts, joining Justin Verlander, Sandy Koufax, Kevin Brown, Randy Johnson and Cliff Lee. Verlander holds the record with three, but he probably won't have it for long if Schittler stays healthy and New York keeps making the playoffs every year.
