Tucker tracked the fly ball all the way to the wall, and then it hit off the end of his glove. It was not the easiest play, but it was certainly one that should have been made. The Brewers went on to score two more runs in the inning, and it was a new low point of Tucker's season.
He was benched on Saturday against Jacob Misiorowski, with Dave Roberts noting that he is starting to show signs of frustration due to his struggles at home. He is hitting .189 and went 0-for-19 on the homestand.
"I don't think he even realized it until recently, when I think people brought it to light," Roberts said on Saturday when asked about Tucker's splits, per MLB.com. "But the fact is, the splits are stark. I don't think we have a reason behind it. But I wouldn't say (he is) fixated on it, but certainly, now he's conscious of it."
"I think more for Kyle, just being at home right now, I see kind of the frustration," Roberts continued. "I felt that it was best for him to use today as a work day, and then he'll be back in there tomorrow and he'll play all three in Denver (next week). Gives me a chance to get Alex (Call) in there."
Tucker is slashing .232/.330/.370 on the season and does not look like the player who was the top free agent available and got a $240 million deal. However, on the road, he has actually looked like an All-Star.
He is slashing .275/.371/.469 away from Dodger Stadium and has nine homers.
