The Boston Red Sox ripped off a nine-game win streak going into the All-Star break, and they are starting to get healthier as well.
The Red Sox are a half game out of a wild card spot entering play on Friday, and getting some of their key players back from injury could actually set them up for a postseason run. Among the players injured for the Red Sox is Connelly Early, who went on the injured list on July 1.
Chad Tracy revealed on Friday that Early threw recently and is hoping to progress to throwing from 90 feet on Saturday. Getting him back could be huge for the team as they also await Garrett Crochet's return.
Tracy on Connelly Early: "Connelly threw at the tail end of the break, which is good. Heβs gonna throw 75 feet today, 90 feet tomorrow. Weβll just keep, as he increases distance, read and react to how heβs feeling. Thatβs a good sign."

Early has a 3.44 ERA through 17 starts this season. He has followed up on a strong showing in the big leagues last year. He still has room to improve, but overall, he has stepped up big time as the Red Sox navigate injuries in the starting rotation.
Early has delivered seven quality starts for the Red Sox this season, and he has been a vital part of their rotation. As the postseason becomes a reality for the Red Sox, getting hi back will be very important. There is still no word on whether he will need a rehab assignment or when he could return, but he has taken a step in the right direction.
