Wednesday was an important day for Los Angeles Dodgers star Mookie Betts. It was his 794th game with the Dodgers, matching the number of games he played for the Boston Red Sox before being traded to Los Angeles in early 2020.

Betts celebrated by doing what he usually does: helping the Dodgers win. With the score tied at 3-3 against the Colorado Rockies in the bottom of the eighth, Betts ripped a go-ahead single, propelling Los Angeles to a 4-3 victory.

He also walked and scored a run earlier in the game, helping the Dodgers take the rubber game at Dodger Stadium.

Winning has been a consistent theme for the 2018 AL MVP since leaving the Red Sox. He's already won three World Series rings since joining Los Angeles, two more than he won with Boston.

By comparison, the Red Sox haven't even been to the Fall Classic since trading Betts, descending into mediocrity without him.

"The sports world sees Mookie as a Dodger," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said prior to Wednesday's game. Unfortunately for Boston fans, he's right. Betts has already accomplished more with Los Angeles than he did with the Red Sox, and that gap is only going to widen as time passes.

When Betts inevitably gets enshrined in Cooperstown someday, it will likely be with a Dodger hat on his plaque.
