A veteran utility man found a new home on Thursday.

Pablo Reyes is a seven-year big league veteran with experience playing for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Milwaukee Brewers, Boston Red Sox, New York Mets and the New York Yankees in the majors. He hasn't played in a game yet in the majors this season. But that could change in the not-so-distant future. The 32-year-old has signed with the Los Angeles Angels on a minor league deal.

Reyes isn't a big-name player, by any means. But he has played some good baseball throughout his big league career to this point, especially as a member of the Red Sox. In 2023, Reyes played in a career high 64 games and slashed .287/.339/.377 with a .716 OPS, two homers, 20 RBIs, seven stolen bases, and nine doubles.

He set career highs in homers, RBIs, stolen bases, walks, doubles and base hits that season in Boston.

Now, he's joining an Angels team that is having a brutal season in general. The Angels are 37-56 on the season so far and have the fewest wins in the league. Clearly, they need some sort of spark. Maybe that could lead to an opportunity for the veteran.
