For the first few months of the 2026 Major League Baseball season, the Boston Red Sox took a lot of heat for their acquisition of Caleb Durbin from the Milwaukee Brewers in a package around Kyle Harrison.
That chatter isn't going on anymore.
Durbin has completely turned his season around.
He entered the day on Sunday slashing .333/.354/.613 with a .966 OPS over his last 26 games. On top of this, he hit five homers, drove in 16 runs, and tallied nine doubles over that stretch.
His hot streak continued on Sunday in a big way. New York Yankees pitcher Carlos Rodón didn't allow a base hit across his first 3 2/3 innings of work on Sunday night. But, in the fourth inning, Boston got two base runners and then Durbin smacked the first base hit of the night for either team and drove in two runs to give Boston a 2-0 lead.

Durbin is on a heater right now. He has increased his batting average from .163 on May 24 all the way up to .231 on June 28. What a turnaround, to say the least.
