The Los Angeles Dodgers look like a club that is ready to make another run to the World Series right now with how the team is already built.

Despite the fact that the Dodgers are 49-29, expect to see fireworks this summer ahead of the 2026 MLB trade deadline. The Dodgers are always a threat to make a splash and it's not every day that you have a chance at a three-peat. That's where Los Angeles stands right now. But who could be the guy to put the Dodgers even more over the top? Well, with as much talent as the Dodgers have, it would take a pretty big-name player to take them to another level.

On Monday, FanSided's Robert Murray shared a column pinpointing the "best fits" for the top contenders in the league and for the Dodgers, mentioned two-time Cy Young Award winner Tarik Skubal and said that Los Angeles will "surely make a phone call to Detroit."

"Los Angeles Dodgers," Murray wrote. "Best fit: Tarik Skubal, Detroit Tigers. When it comes to the Dodgers, you always have to think big. Just look at the stars they’ve signed and traded for in recent seasons. Their roster makes them the heavy favorites to win their third consecutive World Series, and adding Tarik Skubal might put them over the top. With Skubal lingering on the market, the Dodgers will surely make a phone call to Detroit."

If Skubal were to come to Los Angeles this summer, it would be the last move the Dodgers need to make. The Dodgers already should be the favorites to win the World Series. But if they could get Skubal, it would be a near-guarantee.
