The Los Angeles Dodgers already have the most talented roster in Major League Baseball, but could they get even better ahead of the 2026 Major League Baseball trade deadline?
It wouldn't be shocking in the slightest to see Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman go out and try to make a splash. We've seen it over and over with Los Angeles over the last few years. This is the same club that has gotten creative and brought stars like Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Kyle Tucker, Blake Snell, and Edwin Dรญaz, among others to town over the last few years.
The Dodgers don't need to do anything crazy, but they could use another starter and USA Today's Bob Nightengale floated them for the league's biggest potential trade deadline prize: Tarik Skubal of the Detroit Tigers.
"You figured the Dodgers have to be in the mix," Nightengale said. "I'm not saying the Dodgers need him. They will get Snell back at some point, late summer. [Tyler Glasnow] too. You've got them. You've got the Yankees. The Toronto Blue Jays. They'll be in the mix."

Now, if the Dodgers can get Skubal and he returns to the mound and looks like the guy who won the last two American League Cy Young Awards, it would be a wrap. There would be no denying the Dodgers of another ring.
