The Boston Red Sox and Milwaukee Brewers kicked off a three-game series on Monday night at Fenway Park and it didn't go Boston's way.
That's been the case with pretty much every game so far this season.
Boston is 2-8 on the season after 10 games after losing against the Brewers on Monday night, 8-6. Boston and Milwaukee entered the eighth inning tied with five runs apiece. But a costly error from Red Sox outfielder Roman Anthony, unfortunately, changed the game. With two outs in the eighth inning, Garrett Mitchell delivered a base hit to left field with men on first and second base. Anthony fielded the ball cleanly, but his throw to home plate was way off and went to the backstop. Two runs scored to give Milwaukee a 7-5 lead.

After the game, Anthony opened up about the plate and didn't hold back on himself, as transcribed by Tim Healey of The Boston Globe.
"It was a terrible throw, again. ... It’s terrible," Anthony said. "It’s bad baseball. It’s on me. ... At the end of the day, it’s gotta be at least competitive, and it wasn’t. Again. So, it’s terrible."
The throw from Anthony is yet another example of things just not going Boston's way to kick off the season. There's plenty of time left in the campaign, but it's been an odd start, to say the least.
