It certainly seems like there's no love lost between Boston Red Sox slugger Willson Contreras and the Milwaukee Brewers.
On Monday, the Red Sox opened up a three-game series against the Brewers and there were some fireworks. Contreras stepped up to the plate in the third inning and was hit by a pitch from Brewers starter Brandon Woodruff.

In most cases, this wouldn't mean much. But there's some history between these two. Woodruff has now hit Contreras with six pitches throughout his career to this point. Also, Contreras has been hit by 24 total pitches by the Brewers throughout his career in general. That's pretty wild and Contreras clearly isn't happy. After the game, he sent a clear warning to Milwaukee, as transcribed by The Athletic's Jen McCaffrey.
"It’s not just the HBP, it’s the 24th pitch they’ve hit me in my career — 24th," Contreras said. "That’s the 6th time [Brandon Woodruff] has hit me and they always say I’m not trying to hit you. That gets old. So next time they hit me again, I’m going to take one of them out. That’s the message."
The Brewers came out on top on Monday night, but there are still two more games in the series, as of writing. It's going to be an interesting few days, to say the least.
