At this point, the MLBPAA might need to rename the Heart and Hustle Award to the Bobby Witt Jr. Award.
The Kansas City Royals shortstop won it again this year, taking home the trophy for the third year in a row. That's a record for he award, which has been around since 2005.
Witt is the only player to win the award more than twice, breaking a tie with Hall of Famer Craig Biggio.
Per MLB.com, "the Heart & Hustle Award recognizes an active player who demonstrates a passion for baseball and best embodies the values, spirit and traditions of the game. Each of the 30 teams has one nominee selected by a committee of former players, with fans, alumni and active Major League players voting to determine the overall winner."
With his elite speed, hitting, durability and defense, Witt is a worthy winner of the award who excels in all aspects of the game. Accordingly, the award is his to lose.
