The New York Yankees extended a qualifying offer to David Bednar, but it's extremely unlikely that he will accept it.

While that does not mean that the Yankees won't find a way to bring him back, it does mean the Yankees need to be ready to replace him if he does leave. Bednar is one of the best relievers in the game and has been great ever since the Yankees acquired him.

Last season, he posted a 2.47 ERA and recorded 35 saves. If he leaves, the Yankees will need to find a new closer, and while they could try to do so in free agency, trading for a closer may be the right move. The Milwaukee Brewers are reportedly open to trading All-Star closer Trevor Megill, and the Yankees should try to get him.

Megill has one more season before free agency, just like Devin Williams did when the Yankees acquired him. Williams did not work out in the Bronx, but Megill seems more built for the pressure that comes with playing in New York. Unlike Williams, he shined in the postseason, showing pressure does not bother him.

Megill was integral in the Brewers' success this season, but history suggests the Brewers will find a way to trade him this offseason, handing the keys to the ninth inning to Abner Uribe.

Not only would Megill replace Bednar, but there's an argument to be made that he's better. He is a National League Reliever of the Year finalist this season and has been lights-out in the biggest moments.
