The Milwaukee Brewers will play either the Cleveland Guardians or Tampa Bay Rays in the Fall Classic after defeating the back-to-back reigning champions, the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Dodgers were swept by the Brewers, in what can only be described as an embarrassing fashion. The Brewers outplayed them in every facet of the game, and after the loss, the Dodgers showed nothing but class and respect toward the Brewers.
"They're playing unbelievably right now," Kiké Hernández told reporters after the loss. "Congrats to them. I hope that they end up winning it all. They're almost playing perfect baseball, and that's a team that's incredibly hungry and incredibly talented. Their pitching was lights out. Their offense was almost suffocating."
Hernández has been a big part of the last two championship teams in Los Angeles, and he knows what it takes to win a World Series. He has won three World Series with the Dodgers and has done plenty of damage in the postseason throughout his career.
He, like many Dodgers players, was not bitter about losing, but rather acknowledged how good the Brewers were. However, he did not think that, as a team, the Dodgers did not do enough to win, and that the Brewers outplayed them.
The Brewers will await the result of the American League Championship Series, but they already know that Game 1 will be at their house, regardless of who wins.
