The Milwaukee Brewers are one win away from a National League pennant and can sweep the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday.

It's a much different story than last year for the Brewers. They were on the wrong end of a sweep against the Dodgers in the National League Championship Series last season, but now they can get their revenge.

The Brewers came into this year's NLCS with a much better chance of winning than last year, and the players were much more confident. However, to say anyone was expecting the Brewers to sweep the reigning back-to-back champions would be foolish. Even though the Dodgers were stumbling, they are so talented and have a rotation featuring Tarik Skubal, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Blake Snell and Tyler Glasnow.

Alas, they are one loss away from a historic sweep. According to MLB Network's Sarah Langs, if the Brewers complete the sweep, they will be the first team to sweep their opponent in a postseason rematch following getting swept the previous year. The only team to get swept and win a rematch in the following postseason was the 1923 Yankees, but they won in six games.

This matchup has been heralded as a David vs. Goliath story for most of the year, as both of these teams were on a collision course throughout the regular season. They both seemingly knew who was waiting for them in the NLCS, and the Brewers have been the better team by far.

The Dodgers' offense has disappeared, and they have no answers for the Brewers' pitching staff. Even when they did come through with a big swing, the Brewers offense responded with back-to-back home runs off Blake Snell to take a two-run lead.
