Jake Bauers and Garrett Mitchell's back-to-back home runs off Blake Snell in Game 3 of the National League Championship Series will go down in Milwaukee Brewers history if the team can win it all.

Bauers' two-run home run gave the Brewers the lead after the Dodgers took the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning. Mitchell's solo shot to the exact same part of the ballpark gave the Brewers' bullpen some cushion. Snell was in cruise control after giving up a leadoff home run, and every hitter was having trouble squaring him up. It was unlikely that the breakthrough would come off the bat of a left-handed hitter, but alas, it was two left-handers who took him deep to chase him from the game.

In MLB history, only once before this season had two left-handed batters hit back-to-back home runs off a left-handed pitcher, and it was when legends Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig did so in the 1928 World Series. However, this year, it has happened twice, with Bauers and Mitchell being the latest. Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber hit back-to-back home runs off Dylan Lee in the National League Wild Card Series against the Atlanta Braves.

Harper will likely join Ruth and Gehrig in Cooperstown when it's all said and done. Schwarber has a strong case to do so as well. However, Bauers is a journeyman who broke out this year in his age-30 season, and Mitchell is a 28-year-old who has played more games this year than in the previous four years of his career combined.

Bauers and Mitchell are not exactly the pair fans would expect to see on a list with Ruth, Gehrig, Harper and Schwarber.

They may not go down as Hall of Famers, but they will be legends in the state of Wisconsin forever if the Brewers can win their first World Series in franchise history this year.
