The Milwaukee Brewers are going to the National League Championship Series for the second straight season and will be facing the Los Angeles Dodgers again.
Both the Brewers and Dodgers won their respective National League Division Series in four games. The Dodgers are full of established stars, MVP Award winners and multiple Cy Young Award winners. Meanwhile, the Brewers have Christian Yelich, William Contreras and a bunch of young budding stars, like Jackson Chourio.
Chourio is not even 23 years old, and has already established himself as a postseason riser. He has a .300/.333/.600 slash line in 16 postseason games. He was 3-for-16 in the series against the Padres, but his three hits were the biggest of the series. He gave the Brewers the lead with an RBI single in Game 4, walked off Mason Miller in Game 2 and hit a two-run home run to tie the game in Game 1. He notched his 17th postseason RBI on Wednesday night.
According to MLB's Sarah Langs, Chourio is now tied with Hall of Famer Andruw Jones for the most postseason RBIs before turning 23 in MLB history. The noteworthy thing is that Chourio got to 17 RBIs in just 16 games. It took Jones 45 games.
Chourio was amazing for the Brewers last postseason, and he has picked up right where he left off. He played well against the Dodgers last postseason, and this time he will be looking to help the Brewers advance past the team every fan is saying is ruining baseball.
