Cam Schlittler is likely going to win the American League Cy Young Award, and he showed fans just why in Game 1 of the New York Yankees Wild Card Series against the Boston Red Sox.
Schlittler threw 117 pitches in 6 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and one walk. He struck out 10 batters and was as dominant as advertised. Every Yankees fan was thankful for his outing, including New York Knicks star Josh Hart.
"I know Jesus is at God's right hand, but I think Cam Schlittler might be at his left," Hart said on Thursday.
The Knicks won a championship last season, and the Yankees are hoping to follow in their footsteps. Hart also said that he plans to attend Game 3 of the American League Division Series in New York.
"Gotta keep the winning going in New York," Yankees captain Aaron Judge said during the celebration on Wednesday night.
Judge's status will be all the talk going into the American League Division Series. He was pushing to play in the Wild Card series, but was left off the roster. If he has made even more progress in the last two days, there's a chance he could return against the Tampa Bay Rays.
