The Arizona Diamondbacks will finally have Ketel Marte back in the lineup on Monday night.
It's been a long and odd road for the three-time All-Star and the Diamondbacks.
Marte last played in a game in the majors on Aug. 16. Then, he no-showed when the Diamondbacks were set to kick off a three-game series against the Boston Red Sox on Aug. 17.
Since then, there have been a wide range of updates about the All-Star. He initially landed on the restricted list and then was moved to the Injured List. It was a roller coaster, to say the least.
Now, he's back. Marte will return to the lineup on Monday night against the Philadelphia Phillies and he'll be batting fourth.
At the end of the day, it's been a long few weeks for Arizona. But Marte is back and the Diamondbacks are still in the hunt for a Wild Card spot. Right now, the Diamondbacks hold the No. 3 spot and have a 1/2-game lead over the San Diego Padres.
