The Brewers have one of the best farm systems in baseball and are expected to be one of the most aggressive teams in the league at this year's deadline. However, if they are holding out hope for winning the Tarik Skubal sweepstakes, they may not be able to offer as much for Weaver.
Adding Weaver would certainly help both the Brewers and Pirates. The Brewers would be adding him to bolster one of the best bullpens in baseball, while the Pirates would be slotting him into one of the worst. Other clubs will also likely show interest in the 32-year-old.
He has a 1.88 ERA in 41 games this year. He has really gotten the walks under control after struggling in that department last year. He is also getting way more ground balls, which would play really well with the Brewers' and Pirates' infield defenses.
