The New York Yankees finally have Max Fried back, and their rotation is set up for a deep postseason run.
Between Cam Schlittler, Max Fried and Gerrit Cole, the Yankees could throw out an ace in every game if they roll with a three-man rotation in October. Will Warren or Ryan Weathers could serve as a fourth member if needed, but that top three is more than capable of getting the job done.
Schlittler is the favorite to win the American League Cy Young Award this year, and would likely start Game 1 of any series. Behind him is Cole, who has won a Cy Young Award and just delivered three straight quality starts. Finally, there is Max Fried, who, in his return from the injured list, went five innings, allowing just one hit and striking out seven batters.
Offense is still something the Yankees need to fix, but in October, pitching matters more, and the Yankees have a starting rotation capable of putting up zeros on a nightly basis. The bullpen is playing well right now as well.
