It took San Diego Padres star Fernando Tatis Jr. until May 30 to launch his first home run of 2026, 56 games into the season.
After going more than two months without a homer to begin the year, Tatis has looked more like himself since then, especially in the power department.
In Tuesday's 8-3 road win over the Atlanta Braves, Tatis crushed his eighth homer of the season and third in his last four games.
With the Padres leading 6-3 in the top of the eighth, the three-time All-Star absolutely unloaded on a hanging curveball from Braves reliever JR Ritchie, blasting it deep into the left-center-field bleachers at Truist Park for a jaw-dropping two-run shot.

According to Statcast, the ball traveled an estimated 474 feet, making it the longest of the 2026 MLB season thus far. The previous high this year belonged to Atlanta's Drake Baldwin, who smashed one 473 feet in June.
The bomb was the second-longest of Tatis' career, just behind the 477-foot moonshot he drilled at Coors Field in 2021.
Tatis finished the game 3-for-5 with a double, a homer, three RBI and two runs, raising his average to .286 and his OPS to .752. He's opened the second half on fire with three homers, nine RBI and nine hits in five games since the All-Star Break, making his slow start a thing of the past.
