The Toronto Blue Jays are adding a bit more depth to the organization.
Toronto signed veteran outfielder Daz Cameron to a minor league contract on Wednesday. The move has been reflected on his official MLB.com profile.
With Cameron, the Blue Jays are bringing in a former first-round pick to give the club some much-needed depth. Cameron has played in 160 games in the majors throughout his career to this point. His best season came as a member of the Athletics in 24. That year, he slashed .200/.258/.329 with a .587 OPS, five homers, 15 RBIs, five stolen bases, and five doubles in a career high 66 games played.
He spent the first three seasons of his big league career as a member of the Detroit Tigers from 2020 through 2022. In 2025, he played in 21 games as a member of the Milwaukee Brewers. Last year, he hit one homer, drove in three runs and batted .195.
At the end of the day, the Blue Jays aren't signing someone to come in tomorrow and start in the outfield for the organization. But he's a former first-round pick with upside at just 29 years old as a depth option. This is the type of move with no downside.
