The Boston Red Sox's bullpen has been good overall this season, but one of the guys who is supposed to be a key arm has struggled for the most part this season in Greg Weissert.
On Thursday, he came in to help clean up a mess in the sixth inning and walked in a run and then gave up a grand slam to Atlanta Braves superstar Ronald Acuรฑa Jr.Technically, he allowed just two earned runs. But he came in with a high-leverage situation and allowed inherited runners to score as well. After the game, Weissert now has a 4.43 ERA on the season. That's not all, though. He has allowed 12 of his 21 inherited runners to score this season, per The Athletic's Jen McCaffrey.
So, with that being said, the question is should the Red Sox keep him in the majors? He still has one more minor league option left on his deal.
For the Red Sox, it may be worth considering seeing how both Zack Kelly and Tommy Kahnle are down in Triple-A right now. Plus, Kahnle is just a few days away from a decision on whether he will opt out of his minor league deal on June 1.
So, what should Boston do? You decide. Weigh in with comments and we'll tally them up and break down what Boston fans think.
