The Boston Red Sox aren't going to be at full strength over the next few weeks.
Boston shortstop Trevor Story has been dealing with a groin injury since April and now is being placed on the Injured List, per MassLive.com's Chris Cotillo.
"Trevor Story to IL. Been battling a groin issue since late April in BAL," Cotillo wrote.

Story has played in 41 games so far this season and is slashing .206/.244/.303 with a .547 OPS, three homers, 19 RBIs, seven doubles and 16 runs scored. Story signed a six-year, $140 million deal with the Red Sox and had the opportunity to opt out before the 2026 season, but decided against it. Story is signed for the 2027 season for $25 million. Then, he'll have a $25 million club option for the 2028 season.
When healthy, Story can be a game-changer for this club offensively. He hasn't been great so far this season, but now it makes much more sense why. There hasn't been much said at all this season about his groin. Now, we know that he has been hurting and hopefully this will be a step towards him returning to full health.
