It's been an intriguing season so far across Major League Baseball and somehow we're about a quarter of the way through it.
With that being said, let's kick off our first in-depth look at clubs around the league and break down who is for real, and who is going to fall back to earth before the campaign comes to a close.
Over the next week, we'll take a look at each division around the league with the simple question: Legit or fraud?
Let's start off with the American League East and specifically with the Boston Red Sox.
Boston Red Sox
Record: 17-23
Biggest Surprise: Firing Alex Cora
MVP: Wilyer Abreu — There isn't a player on the roster who has been as consistent as Abreu has been for Boston. Overall this season, he is slsahing .295/.377/.473, six homers and 18 RBIs. There are other guys who could fit this spot, like Willson Contreras, Aroldis Chapman or Connelly Early, but no one has been as consistent as Abreu.

One Sentence: Boston's season has been defined by offensive struggles and injuries. It has been disjoined, to say the least. Arguably, the club can — and should — be much better. But through a quarter of the season, things aren't where they need to be.
Legit or fraud? As of right now, fraud.
