The Boston Red Sox aren't going to be at full strength over the next few weeks, to say the least.

Boston already is at a crossroads right after firing former Red Sox manager Alex Cora. Since then, Boston has gone 2-1 and seemingly was taking a step in the right direction. Now, the club is taking two steps backwards, though. Boston announced on Wednesday that ace Garrett Crochet is going on the Injured List with left shoulder inflammation.

"The Red Sox today placed LHP Garrett Crochet on the 15-Day Injured List (retroactive to April 26) with left shoulder inflammation. To fill his spot, Boston recalled INF/OF Nate Eaton from Triple-A Worcester," the Red Sox announced.

The fact that Crochet is heading to the Injured List isn't the biggest shock right now as he has been struggling. Crochet has a 6.30 ERA in six starts on the season so far. Clearly, something was up. Hopefully, this stint on the Injured List is just a reset and he's able to get back on the hill shortly after he is eligible to do so.
