The Boston Red Sox's outfield is loaded, which led to an offseason full of trade rumors.
Jarren Duran specifically was at the subject of trade rumors, but he is still with the organization. On Monday, he opened up about the endless noise, as transcribed byThe Athletic's Jen McCaffrey.
"I never look at that stuff,” Duran said, as transcribed by McCaffrey. “My parents look at it enough for me. They text me and go, ‘Did you get traded?’ I’m like, ‘Do you really think I’m not going to let you know if I get traded? C’mon.’ I never give it any two cents. It’s in God’s hands and whatever happens, happens.”
The Red Sox have four star outfielders on their hands in Duran, Roman Anthony, Wilyer Abreu, and Ceddanne Rafaela. As things stand right now, it would appear likely for the team to roll with all four outfielders on a consistent basis with one of them in the designated hitter spot.
It's an interesting situation, but when there is this much talent, it makes it okay to get creative. Duran was at the center of endless trade rumors. But Spring Training is here in full swing and it doesn't appear likely at all that he, or any of the other outfielders on the roster, will be on the move.
