The Boston Red Sox are fortunate to have Major League Baseball's best overall outfield.

Some have questioned the team for not trading from the group this offseason, but it is a strength overall. When you have a group that includes Roman Anthony, Jarren Duran, Wilyer Abreu, and Ceddanne Rafaela, you're going to want to keep them together. Rafaela and Abreu arguably are the best defensive center fielder and right fielder in baseball. Duran is dynamic and does a bit of everything. No one has more upside on the team than Anthony.

Overall, the fanbase should be excited. One thing that shows how good this group is the fact that MLB.com's Jason Foster ranked Duran as the No. 1 left fielder in baseball.

"Left field: Jarren Duran, Red Sox," Foster wrote. "Duran brings a potent combo of speed and extra-base pop to the left-field spot. For a second straight season, he produced double digits in triples (an AL-best 13) to go with 41 doubles and 16 homers. This came after he led all of MLB in triples (14) and doubles (48) in 2024. All those extra bases are fueled by exceptional sprint speed (29.1 mph), which ranks in MLB's 91st percentile. On defense, his throwing arm is valued among MLB's best (93rd percentile), having prevented six extra runs since the start of 2024 -- tied for the third most among outfielders during that span."

There's been a lot of talk of using the designated hitter spot for an outfielder because of the surplus. Duran and Anthony have both gotten a lot of buzz on that front. What other team could boast a guy who is viewed as the best overall player at his position and yet he may not even be in that spot every night? Not many. It just goes to show how loaded Boston is.
