The Boston Red Sox should have a big season ahead.

After winning 89 games in 2025, the club arguably should be better in 2026. Boston loaded up on pitching this offseason and still boasts the best overall outfield in the game. While there should be a lot of excitement heading into Spring Training, it's never too early to look ahead and think about who could be gearing up for their final season with the club.

Here are three guys to watch out for in 2026:

Jarren Duran — Outfielder
Duran has been at the center of trade rumors for about a year at this point, although he hasn't been moved yet, as of writing. At some point, the Red Sox are going to have to address the outfield surplus. With significant interest all over the place, Duran seems like a logical trade chip.

David Hamilton — Infielder
Hamilton is someone who is dynamic on the base paths, but doesn't have a clear pathway to consistent playing time, especially if the club can add one more infielder. He's someone who can bring back some sort of return if made available for a trade, or at least be a piece of a greater trade package.

Sonny Gray — Starting Pitcher
Gray hasn't thrown a pitch for Boston quite yet, but his stint with the club may not be very long. When the Red Sox acquired him from the St. Louis Cardinals, he wasn't on a long-term deal. He's 36 years old and doesn't necessarily fit the long-term plans for the rotation.
