ROCK HILL, S.C. - Chase Worthington hit two RBI doubles and John Garrett pitched four innings of one-hit relief as sixth-seeded VMI defeated seventh-seeded UNC Asheville 7-4 in Game 1 of the Big South baseball tournament. With the win, VMI (33-20) advances to the main double-elimination bracket of the tournament. VMI will play No. 1 Coastal Carolina.

Rain has forced postponement of tonights scheduled Sheboygan North vs. Sheboygan South baseball game at Wildwood Baseball Park. The varsity game has been rescheduled for Monday, May 24, at Wildwood. The junior varsity game will be played at Field of Dreams on the same day.
