We had a disgustingly picturesque October weekend, complete with hikes in the woods, a visit to a pumpkin patch, two Halloween parties, one including a hayride, a fresh-baked batch of sugar and spice cookies (my grandmother’s recipe), the last baseball game of the season (with AJ on the mound), and an all-family leaf-raking and pile-jumping extravaganza.
