Eastern Greene High School baseball coach Trevor McConnell will be having a youth baseball camp Aug. 8-11 at the high school baseball field. The camp is for players in incoming grades 1-8.
Baseball was back at George M. Steinbrenner Field for the first time since the death of the New York Yankees owner.

The Negro Leagues take the baseball field again on Thursday as the Postal Service honors the organizations that gave black players a chance to show their talents before the major leagues were integrated.
After a week off, the baseball legionnaires from Zack Wheat Post 624 return to action this week, and will attempt to make Camdenton sports history. The summer incarnation of the high school Lakers host Warsaw at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. Barring a rainout, the game will be the first ever played on the new baseball field at Camdenton High School.
