MLB.com learned on Tuesday that Brian Anderson and the Royals have agreed to a one-year deal. The deal reportedly calls for a base salary of $700,000, with incentives for another $100,000. The club has yet to confirm the deal.
Left-handed pitcher Scott Olsen, who became a free agent when he was non-tendered by the Nationals on Saturday, has agreed to terms with Washington on a one-year contract for a base salary of $1 million, a baseball source told ESPN.com.
According to contract figures obtained by The Associated Press, the deal Ken Griffey Jr. signed this month to return to the Seattle Mariners for one more season as a 40-year-old calls for a $2.35 million base salary for 2010.
The White Sox exercised their 2010 option on right-hander Freddy Garcia, SI.com reported on Monday, adding that the 34-year-old will make a $1 million base salary, plus a possible $2 million in incentives.
